If doughnuts are being served it's very informal - so treat it that way gracefully.

If you are standing, pick the doughnut up with a napkin encasing it about a third to halfway to keep your hands clean and to deter dropping glaze everywhere and enjoy in modest size bites. Once you get to where the doughnut is being held in the napkin, stop and put it on the used item tray. This will keep you from spilling the glaze that has collected in the napkin.

If you have seating, place the doughnut on a snack plate with the tongs provided. At your seat you make either use a knife and fork to cut small bites or tear small pieces from the doughnut and put it in your mouth. Use only your thumb and your index finger to minimize sticky hands.
