What color cake do you want for your birthday party?
If you see a cake and you want to know whose cake it is, you would say, "Whose cake is this?" If someone brings a cake as a present for someone else, and you want to know whom it's for, you can casually ask, "Who is it for?" Or you can ask very formally, "For whom is this cake?" "Whose cake is this for" doesn't make sense.

I would rather be covered in head to toe in cake frosting but not just any cake frosting I want to be covered in vanilla frosting my favorite yum!
A birthday party+Beer+Cake.

Dogs don't use candles, people do. I would suggest that if you want to do a "doggy birthday cake" you do something they can eat since they will get sick eating a cake. A special toy would be better.
do you want a salty cake
Yes, but it would make more sense saying 'The boy didn't want any of the carrot cake'.
