What are white winter hamsters like?

They are good hamsters. If your talking about the roborovski hamsters they are fast! Some of those hamsters are all white. I have one and you'll know how great climbers they are!! winter white hamsters are cute and they love being in the cold place :) Edit by standarddeviation: Winter white hamster are NOT roborovski hamster though both are consider dwarf hamster. They are of complete different species. Winter White hamster looks like a much smaller version of the typical syrian Hamster. They are however also different from the quite alike "Campbell Dwarf", in size and looks however again they are also considered different, though hybrid between the 2 species is possible. They are like a common pet in various part of the world, though consider "rodent". Though consider rodent like mice and rats, they are treated much better as a house pet due to their nice looking fur colour and usually not as a pest except in some part of Russia. Wikipedia it for more info.

How fast do Roborovski dwarf hamsters run?

It's has to be the one the only dwarf hamster, the smallest hamster in the world. the dwarf hamster is a good pick for a hamster BUT! the person HAS to be at least 9 and 5 months or up. that age or up the person is more careful of this hamster because this hamsters FAST! This happen to my cousin's and there 18 anyway so they bought out the hamster to play with and then BOOM! the hamster rana and ran it ran SO fast but then it ran to the corner it was close and they will be VERY careful next time. But I suggestif your getting a hamster u should choose a bigger hamster like a teddy bear hamster or black bear or reg. or rex. hamster there bigger and live much longer they live to 2-3 years(if the hamster is healthy. The dwarf hamster live for 1-2 years only. For even more info search this site HamsterLover888.com Hope this helps!

Do hamster have diseases?

nope. hamsters dont usually have diseases. it is very rare for hamsters to have any kind of disease. wet tail is one disease that happens often. wet tail is a disease that makes a hamster sick. hamsters usually get wet tail when they are cramped in a cage or in a pet store with a lot of other hamsters. when a hamster has wet tail the hamster's butt gets wet and also part of the tip of the tail. if your hamster is having babies, careful because the babies can get the disease from genetics. but hamsters dont get the disease a lot, its very rare for hamsters to get a disease! >Edit> Actually, it's fairly common. It's usually just a cold, but they do, in fact, get diseases. On rare occasions, they can even carry diseases such as Salmonella, if they come from an unhealthy breeder. As they get older they also become more susceptible to disease. If you want to prevent diseases, you should try not to stress them out, because it lowers their immune system. Any of the varieties of Campbell's Dwarf Hamsters are also more prone to cancer. One of my hamsters actually died of cancer.
