Arguably, I'm not a professional with wine in anyway, however to my understanding there are certain temperatures for different wines to be served at. If your just talking about storage alone it doesn't really matter, to my knowledge, except for the inconvenience of having to chill a bottle if you want it cold at the time of drinking.

Are there any good mini wine cellers for just a dozen bottles?

For those who do not have the space to build a wine cellar in their home, there are indeed compact wine cellars for sale with the capacity to carry about 8 to 800 wine bottles all in the comfort of your space and/or conveniently stored under a cabinet or against a wall. Some of these compact cellars come with dual refrigeration in order to keep your bottles chilled at the same time.

How can I properly store wine to ensure it ages well in 6 month bottles?

To properly store wine for aging in 6-month bottles, keep them in a cool, dark place with a consistent temperature of around 55-65F. Store the bottles on their side to keep the cork moist and prevent oxidation. Avoid storing wine in areas with strong odors or vibrations, as they can affect the flavor. Check the bottles periodically to ensure they are undisturbed and the corks are intact.

Why have wine prices come down?

I don't know about the U.S., but Canada's wine prices have gone up. Also I heard on the news that Australia had replaced corks in wine to caps and it's catching on, so good wine will be introduced in possibly plastic bottles (as they states on the news) with caps like pop bottles. My own opinion is I like glass wine bottles and feel the cork enhances the wine.
