I don't know about the U.S., but Canada's wine prices have gone up. Also I heard on the news that Australia had replaced corks in wine to caps and it's catching on, so good wine will be introduced in possibly plastic bottles (as they states on the news) with caps like pop bottles. My own opinion is I like glass wine bottles and feel the cork enhances the wine.
