Jams, jellies are very similar, conserves/preserves are different:

  • Jam is made basically from sugar and fresh fruitboiled together until thick
  • Jelly, only the juice of the fruit is used boiled together until thick
  • Conserves (or preserves) the whole fruit is preserved in heavy syrup. Conserves are more syrupy than ordinary jam and much sweeter
