yes there is hell of alot of sugar
I took 2 Tums at 4:00am. At 8:am my blood sugar was 206. Would this have been caused by the Tums?
Sucrose (or saccharose) is table sugar, and is a complex sugar made from glucose and fructose units.
Tums typically contain minimal amounts of sugar, primarily in the form of sucrose, as they are designed primarily for antacid use. The exact sugar content can vary by flavor and formulation, but most Tums varieties contain around 1 to 2 grams of sugar per tablet. Always check the packaging for specific nutritional information, as formulations may differ.
A typical sugar cube weighing about 2.3g typically contains around 2.3g of sucrose. Tums do not contain sucrose as an active ingredient, but may contain other sugar substitutes in smaller amounts for flavoring.
Tums is an antacid, basic.
No, But you can take Tums and Ambien! ;)
Alkaline and act as antacids. TUMS is an antacid made of sucrose (sugar) and calcium carbonate. It provides relief from acid indigestion, heartburn, and indigestion ("sour stomach") and is considered a calcium supplement.
Tums react with acids from the stomach.
"tums" is pH 19 - it needs to be alkalinic. Also, mint is alkalinic and tums had a very definite taste of mint.
