Rice, wheat, sorghum, do not grow on trees. But a lot of fruit grows on trees, such as apples, pears, bananas, peaches, etc. And some fruit growth on the vines, such as watermelon, grapes, etc.

people eat a lot of fruit. bananas, pinaple, you name it ... succutash......
Texas and Colorado are big meat producers (Cattle and sheep).
A pineapple takes 3-5 years to grow. You get a lot of leaves at first, then the fruit slowly grows out of the center.
Montana does not have a designated state fruit at this time. Only about 70 percent of the states in the United States have a designated fruit.
Fruit of the Loom
Florida grows a lot of citrus: oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, etc. It also grows some tropical fruit: mangos, avocados, etc. Other than that, Florida grows many of the same foods grown in the rest of the nation. One of the differences is that many of the fresh vegetables you eat in the winter are grown in Florida. Florida simply grows them earlier in the year.

Palmdale is in the desert so unless there is vast amounts of water it is hard to grow fruit trees. Years ago they had a lot of date palms and it has been awhile since I was that far south. If more trees have gone in they can grow oranges, peaches, cherry, and most of the fruit grown through out the state. My area of CA is just as hot and we grow it all.
