Dahi Vada is a favourite of many people.I got the recipe of Dahi Vada from motherszone.com.

Ingredients:

  • Dhuli Urad Ki Daal - 1 cup (Soaked 5-6 hours and grounded to a paste)
  • Yogurt (Beaten, Smoothened) - 2 ½ cups
  • Roasted and Powdered Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Kali Mirch - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Kala Namak - 1 tsp
  • Chaat Masala (for garnishing)
  • Mint Chutney - 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind Chutney - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 2 tsp
  • Oil for frying
Method:
  • Mix and beat the daal paste thoroughly.
  • Heat oil in a pan and make vadas from the daal paste.
  • Fry the vadas in hot oil on medium heat, until they turn golden brown in colour.
  • Once the vadas are made one by one, take them out of the frying pan and put into a separate pan or bowl containing salted water.
  • Put salt, cumin seeds, coriander leaves and black pepper into the yogurt and mix them well.
  • Take out the fried bhallas from the pan or bowl and arrange them on a serving dish.
  • Pour the yogurt over the bhallas and add tamarind chutney, mint chutney, chilli powder, kala namak and chaat masala to the dish.
