Was the Prophet Muhammad a peaceful man?

The Muslims don't follow Prophet Muhammad (SAW) only to go to Jannat. Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is the last prophet of Islam, the religion liked by Allah Almighty. It is the complete code of life. It teaches all human beings how to lead a truthful, just and peaceful life on this earth. It lays down the guiding principles of life on earth where we can earn the Will of Almighty Allah. It teaches universal human brotherhood. Based on our good deeds and noble actions we can make our life in the hereafter pleasing and fruitful.

No Prophet Mohhammad was not a good man he was just concerned about setting up a new religion in which he said himself as a messenger of god. He destroyed the glory of vedic religion in Arabia to encourage his religion. He was a criminal minded person who spent his life in destroying vedic culture & killing hindus & converted them to islam for sake of his self interst. He wanted to become a holy person in eyes of the world. He forcefully converted people to islam & claimed that god has oderred him to do so. But the truth is that the almighty god never preaches of unmercifull killing of his children. Prophet overtook the KABA which was a temple of almighty lord shiva & destroyed all idols of religious dietis except the shiv ling because he was afraid that if he would do so lord shiva will burn him to ashes. he plundered the precious wealth of kaba & taught his disciples the lessons of criminality & killing non muslims. a true messenger of god can teach only love for all not murders & looting. whatever he taught can be seen by acts of muslims in history & in present time also that is killing & terrorism.......

- Muhammad , peace be upon Him, is the best human ever & forever. He is the greatest prophet of all. It needs a lot to describe its blessed beloved character, but these are some spot lights:

- It's enough honour for him, peace be upon him, to be addressed by the Almighty Allah by:

Note that this great description is from the Creator of all, which can indicate how much indeed were Muhammad's manners great & benevolent.

- Even before His prophecy, Muhammad PBUH was well-know for His great manners. He was called by his people (The Sincere, the trustworthy).

- Muhammad was well-known for His patience, humility, wisdom, humanity, very benevolent & good treatment even with his enemies.

- Allah says:

(We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures).

History tells us how was his mercy & tolerance the reason behind the conversion of many people to Islam, the biggest event was when he declared his remission to the Makkans when Makkah was conquered by Muslims ( 8 hijri). This showes his forgiveness to very fierce enemies of His message, those who caused so much harm & torment to him & all early Muslims.

( It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for ((Allah)'s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast Taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)).

- His great unique model as a human must be followed by all Muslims as commanded in the holy Quran many times.

Yes, he was a peaceful Prophet of Allah, as all the Prophets had been. He and his followers were persecuted and tortured for 13 years in Mecca yet he didn't allow his followers to take up arms against the oppressors. Ultimately, he and his followers were forced to flee from Mecca. They took refuge in Madina. The Makken non-believers attacked the Muslims. Only then, Almighty Allah permitted the Muslims to take up arms and defend themselves. The Makkans, again and again, attacked the Muslims, till the Muslims conquered Mecca. Even at the fall of Mecca, the beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW announced general amnesty for the enemies who had been persecuting the Muslims. He took up arms in life only in his defence. He was an embodiment of Mercy for all the human beings.

NO. If we assume that the term "peaceful man" applies to people like Mohandas Gandhi, Tenzin Gyatso (the 14th Dalai Lama), Jalal ad-Din Rumi, and Siddharta Gautama (the Buddha), then Muhammad definitely does not fit into this paradigm. Muhammad lived a mixed life with both peace and violence.

While there were certainly peaceful times in Muhammad's life (over 50 years), especially prior to the Hijra (his flight from Mecca to Medina in 622 C.E.), the last years of Muhammad's life were as political leader and military commander. During Muhammad's last decade, he led the Muslims in fighting several offensive engagements, defensive engagements, and received renown from his fellow Muslims for his prowess on the battlefield.

When Muhammad was in Medina, he coordinated numerous raids on caravan shipments that were lightly armed and not antagonistic. At the time, Muhammad and the Muslims needed supplies in Medina and did not have the funds to buy such supplies on the open market. As a result, he resorted to violence to achieve his objectives. This persistent action (of violently attacking merchants trafficking through Arabia) caught the attention of the Meccans whose commerce he was ruining. This resulted in the Ghawazat (غزوات) or Skirmishes between Meccans and Medinans. The three following battles (Badr, the Trench, and Uhud) were declared by the Meccans against the Medinans/Muslims in order to stop the Muslims' theft of Meccan goods and the butchery of Meccan merchants. Muhammad took an active role in these battles, leading the Muslims in battle and eventually defeating the Meccan forces.
