You should try to avoid changing 100% of the water unless absolutely necessary. Goldfish need 20 gallons for the first fish, plus 10 gallons each per additional fish (so 30 gallons for 2 fish). This is not only because of their size potential, but because of the waste they produce.

Your tank should also have a filter running at all time, whether it's an HOB (Hang On Back) or a canister type; this will hold the bulk of your good bacteria that helps keep the water cycled.

You should perform regular weekly maintenance on your tank which includes changing at least 50% of the water making sure that the new water is the same temperature as the old water, and that you add in the recommended dosage of water conditioner per the directions on the bottle.

If your tank is over-stocked and you are unable to buy something bigger, you can see if it's possible to re-home fish to a local fish store, and you would need to increase the number of water changes per week to perhaps 50% two times a week.

What are the symptoms of a pregnant goldfish?

Fish don't get pregnant. When a male and female goldfish mate, they will swim close together and then the female will release eggs which the male will then cover in a liquid from his own body. This means that the eggs are fertilized and then they will then sink to the bottom of the tank. I suggest putting some CLEAN marbles on the bottom of the tank with the eggs because this will stop the fish trying to eat their own eggs. This works.
