These two locations were areas of engagement on July 2, 1863 of the Battle of Gettysburg.
The 20 acre area known as the Wheatfield was owned by the John Rose family and became known as Bloody Wheatfield. The Peach Orchard had been planted by Joseph Sherfy in 1858. It was bought by the Gettysburg Battlefield Memorial Association in 1890.
