It could be hes going into hybernation. I wouldn't recommend letting him though. Try to keep playing with him as much as you can.
If its during the day hes sleeping its normal their nocturnal but at night isn't.
i don't think it's normal. You should take it to a vet.

Hamsters aren't supposed to share cages if there syrians(dwarf hamsters can share a cage very happily). Your hamsters could kill eachother; hamster's nature is to roam alone. However, if you have one male hamster, and one female hamster, this may not apply, as the female can, well, you know, with the male and before you know it.... pop goes the BABIES. Be prepared.
It was on the floor, so anyone could easily come up and kill them while they were sleeping.
Does he have any redness or injury to the area? If not then he is probably just grooming himself. Sometimes it seems like they are biting when they are cleaning (they "nibble" and lick their fur/skin to groom).
I will say that you could murder a hamster by killing it without its consent. which is possible by microwaving it until it pops. I thought the term applies only to humans and, in science fiction, humanoids. However, the dictionary definition seems to imply that it can apply to animals if it is brutal or inhumane.
If the hamster seems to be peeing out blood and it only goes on for like 2-3 days its probably a sort of period. It happens to hamsters a couple of times in their lives. However, if it goes on longer, or it's butt seems to be bleeding all the time , not just when it pees, it could be a kidney disorder. Go to the vet if this is the case. Sources: I have bred hamsters, raised them, made them better, now have 60 hamsters in my home.
It seems unlikely that a hamster could generate that much force with a bit, but if this happened, it would be important to get examined by a health care provider as soon as possible. The combination of animal bite and broken bone in the hand can be particularly dangerous.
If the bumps are raised, but seem like they are under the skin, it may be a tumor. Look for other signs of bad health, like not eating, or a change in normal behavior. If your hamster seems unhealthly or in pain you can take it to a local vet.
Kittens sleep a lot because they are growing and developing rapidly. They need plenty of rest to recharge their energy and support their physical and mental development. It is normal for kittens to sleep for up to 20 hours a day, so there is no need to worry if your kitten seems to be sleeping a lot.
