hi,
i live in the Bahamas and have been going to school here for 5 years after i moved from Seattle for buisness with my dad ,mom, and sister.. i am extremley happy we are moving back to Seattle next year because the school systems here suck . the teachers don't care if you pass or fail, and the average grade for this country is a 'd'. some children cant read, or spell. ( 10 % of children ) . Ive attended their public school which is worst because children have shot there teachers before so....... they would try to shoot you. i have been to private school which is not as good but better. PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE BAHAMAS ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. these children in the schools do not know many things that a 6 year old in a American school would know. they also HAVE to do religion- they cannot worship any other God but the one they are taught about ( i am a christian, so it was a easy pass )
i am 14 and if i was staying in the Bahamas i would've been going in the 11th grade. normally their students graduate at 16, . I'm not trying to be defensive, but Bahamian education is horrible. THANK God for America!

Well, sweetie, a school day in the Bahamas typically lasts around 6 hours, give or take. But hey, don't get too excited thinking it's all fun in the sun - those hours are filled with learning and not just beach time. So buckle up and get ready to hit the books, Bahamas style!

The Bahamas celebrates many of the Western World holidays, other than those specific to The USA, like Thanksgiving and Memorial Day.
