With fresh bread sticks, the best meal would be a hearty pasta wither with a tomato based sauce or pasta with a parmasan cheese/cream sauce with either srimp or chicken ontop. For salad, usaully i see a steak, or pork (not in pork chops) > usually when cooking your starters(bread of salad) are lighter than the meal its self. Hope that helps! :)
One good oven fried chicken recipe would be parmasan chicken. This is done by coating the raw chicken with mayonnaise and parmasan cheese, then baking it for forty five minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
