Meats used in hot dogs come from the muscle of the animal and looks much like what you buy in the grocer's case. Other ingredients include water, curing agents and spices, such as garlic, salt, sugar, ground mustard, nutmeg, coriander and white pepper."


Basicaly, hot are only made of beef and/or pork. But on the news it said you can't get the Swine Flu from eating pork. so eat up!

Each brand makes theirs a little differently, but they all include meat and spices. The meat could be pork, beef, turkey, or chicken. Some are even made with meat substitutes. The cuts of meat used also varies, but often it is the trimmings from the other higher priced cuts of meat or sometimes organs. Some companies use nothing but the prime cuts for their hotdogs. You need to check the label and if it's not clear contact the company and ask.
