I find that sesame crackers go well with hummus. I also enjoy red and green peppers with hummus on them. Celery and hummus is not bad either. I have put hummus on hard boiled eggs and even on an apple . So experiment and enjoy the awesomeness that hummus is!

What molds grow on hummus?

Hummus can develop various types of mold, with common species including Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Rhizopus. These molds thrive in moist environments, making hummus a suitable substrate, especially if it is stored improperly or for too long. The presence of mold not only affects the taste and texture but can also pose health risks if consumed. It's important to store hummus in airtight containers and refrigerate it to minimize mold growth.
