Pi, as in the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (3.14159, to five decimal places) doesn't end, or if it does, we haven't found the end of it yet. It's been tracked to over a trillion places.

Pi has been known of and used well before recorded history. In ancient times Pi was believed in, rather than known as a fact. When I first learned this I thought it was the most startling mathematical fact I'd ever heard. I still do.
