It depends on where you live but right now, mid-April, is as good a time as any unless your area is still susceptible to freezing temperatures. Some say to plant after the last scheduled frost and others say to wait 2-3 weeks after that. My chocolate cherry seedlings still need a couple of weeks before they're ready to plant, but if I had sprouted them earlier I would've definitely put them in the ground by now, but I live in Austin, TX where right now is the perfect time.
