According to records and based on patent of Pringles, food scientist Alexander Liepa invented Pringles on August 6th, 1968 though the product came to be introduced on the October of 1968 in Ohio, in the US. According to Procter and Gamble, the brand name was inspired by one of the streets at Finneytown in Ohio, the Pringle Drive. The initial products were packaged and sold in tall and cylindrical packages that had red wrappers.
