Prophets are men who were called out by God to do his work. It was mainly to be like middle men, to tell the people what God wanted them to do, or to corect themselves from doing wrong things ,like making idols.

Prophets are the chosen men assigned the task of preachjing Almighty God's message to human beings. According to the teachings of Islam, the number of Prophets (May peace be upon them all) has been 1, 24, 000. The Muslims believe in all of them. The last prophet of Islam was Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), the first being Hazrat Adam AS. In between were Hazrat Noah, Hazrat Abraham, Hazrat Soloman, Hazrat David, Hazrat Jacob, Hazrat Moses, Hazrat Jesus Christ and many many others. All of them taught ONENESS of Almighty God. They preached to worship ONLY ONE Almighty God ALLAH in Arabic).
