Yes, Milton Hershey owned several pets throughout his life. He had a fondness for dogs, particularly a collie named "Hershey" and a terrier named "Teddy." Additionally, Hershey was known to have a love for horses, which he used for both work and leisure on his farm. His affection for animals reflected his caring nature and contributed to his wholesome image.
Hershey milk chocolate is made in a city called Hershey in Pennsylvania. When you enter the city you can smell the chocolate. You can visit the factory as well. It is so much fun. Lots of fun for kids.
Chocolate used to be only for rich people. Milton Hershey wanted chocolate to be to the poor. Hershey chocolate was the first ever chocolate avalible to the poor. Without hershey chocolate, there wouldn't be Snickers, Milky Ways, there wouldn't be that if there was no milton hershey. even though it was made from a different company.
The biggest factory is of course in the land of chocolade Belgium in a village called Wieze. The factory makes Callebaut chocolate. This chocolate is used world wide for industrial use. However, Hershey PA is a town devoted to Hershey milk chocolate.
Chocolate is native to Mexico and South America. It was introduced to Europe by Spanish explorers. It was first used as a drink. Milton Hershey made the first candy bar in 1900. It has been found to contain antioxidants.

YES. Sometime in fall 2007, Hershey changed their recipe, unannounced. I have an older package of Hershey's Milk Chocolate Kisses from summer 2007. The ingredients are: Milk chocolate (sugar, milk, cocoa butter, chocolate, soy lecithin, and vanillin, artificial flavor). I also have a newer bag from just before Halloween 2007. The ingredients are: Milk chocolate (sugar, milk, chocolate, cocoa butter, LACTOSE, MILK FAT, soy lecithin and PGPR, EMULSIFIERS, and vanillin, artificial flavor). PGPR is a food additive used to replace real chocolate. It is cheaper to produce. Major chocolate manufacturers, including Hershey, are currently lobbying the FDA to allow non-chocolate to be labeled as chocolate. I encourage everyone to stop supporting companies who are deceptive to consumers. Natural stores such as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, and the brand Ghiradelli still make real chocolate.

Chris Stelzl invented them as a Jr. High School project in 1976. He was a fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and M&M's as a child. So he created his two favorites into one. He created a drawing showing the idea with a letter and sent it to both Mars and Hershey's. Although he never received a response from either company, Hershey's came out with the product in1978 and then it was used in the hit movie E.T. the rest is history.
