Chocolate is important in Cuba because the majority of cocoa plants are harvested in the region. One of the most important chocolate factorys in Cuba was actually owned by Che Guevara and this factory is still running today in the town of Baracoa. The factory imports its cocoa to all the major chocolate factories in Switzerland and you can visit it whilst on holiday in Cuba. My friend Peter was lucky enough to visit and has written a blog about his adventures. You can read it here: http://www.captivatingcuba.com/blog/cuba/. He brought me some chocolate back and it is so tasty!
