most modern fridge freezers have an airflow control, if the temperature setting is correct in the fridge/freezer check the air flow vents as I had the same trouble, I ended up turning the air flow down to keep the chilled air in the freezer instead of circulating it into the fridge. Also dont put lettuce near the air vents!!
To lower freezing point, making the ice cream mix in the container colder than freezing temperature so it freezes faster. Its much easier to make ice cream with a compressor freezer than a salt & ice freezer.
