Freezeout is the standard Poker tournament format. It means that once you've lost all of your chips you are out of the tournament.

Some tournaments offer a re-buy or add-on which gives you an additional way to get chips. These tournaments are then not freezeout, though at some point they do revert to freezeout format.

Freeze Out is a term used in poker tournaments. A freeze-out tournament is where you are given the opportunity to buy in once and no rebuys or add ons are available. This means once you run of out chips, your tournament is over. There is a wide range of tournaments. (eg freeze-outs, rebuy, multiple rebuy, addons etc).
