In a 'triple-chance' tournament, the player has the option to rebuy his starting stack twice at any time during a designated period at the start of the tournament. Normally this rebuy period is the period before the first break.
A triple chance may either require you to run out of chips before rebuying, drop below a certain level before rebuying, or there may be no restriction on when they can be bought (meaning that players may start will all 3 buy ins and a stack of 3 times the standard starting stack). For example, the triple chance event at the World Series of Poker in 2009 does not have any restrictions on when this can be done.
