Probably, but just to point out that being a psychopath doesn't mean you have the urge to kill, it just means you don't have the same range of emotions (if any) as "regular" people, which i guess makes it easier to kill. I like to think that most politicians are psychopaths

Are there any famous psychopaths?

Edward 'Ed' Gein (1974-1957): A serial killer who would skin his victims, exhume corpses and decorate his home with parts of his victims' bodies. The skin of his victims was used to make dustbins, furniture and clothing. Ted Bundy (1947-1978): Serial killer who confessed to about 40 murders. He would kill women and then bury their bodies in the glades of Florida. He would later return and engage in necrophilia with the corpses. John Wayn Gacy (1972-1978): Serial killer who confessed to 24 murders, but is suspected of 28 (because he owned a map of 28 graves). He would dress as a clown, get to know the young boys and sexually assault them before killing them. Jeffrey Dahmer (1978-1991): The most well known Psychopath. He preyed upon prostitutes and was convicted of 15 murders. He also victimized boys of Asian and African descent. He was known to practice necrophilia and cannibalism. He finally was killed by a fellow inmate. It is also suspected the Jack the Ripper was a psychopath and there are others. Know that psychopaths are not necessarily bad or serial killers, but the word psychopath is typically associated with serial killers.

Why did John Wayne Gacy only kill men?

John Wayne Gacy's crimes were sexual in nature. It is a fact that male homosexual serial killers target those that appeal to them sexually, which for Gacy was young men. Just as was true of Jeffrey Dahmer in Wisconsin and Randy Kraft in California. Serial killer Ted Bundy was heterosexual, he killed only young college-aged women, because that is the type the appealed to him sexually. When a male serial killer targets those of the same sex, they are usually gay.

How many sociopaths become serial killers?

Contrary to what many people believe, most serial killers are not 'insane'. This of course does not mean they are normal, they aren't. Serial killers, with few exceptions, are not suffering from this kind of mental illness. They are usually clear headed and calculating. They try to keep mistakes to a minimum because if they don't they are bound to be caught. Someone with a psychosis has enough to deal with just getting through the day. They seldom have the capacity to consistantly scheme and plot serial murder. There are always exceptions to every rule but the majority are calm and and paying strict attention to details.

Can someone be a psychopath and not be committing crimes?

Yes. A psychopath is not necessarily a criminal. They lack empathy though. A psychopath does have the ability to control their behavior, unlike a person with something such as antisocial personality disorder. Psychopaths tend to be extremely intelligent and thus can put there intelligence to good use. The only reason that psychopaths have a bad rap is due to the fact that many serial killers are diagnosed as psychopaths.
