Although many established Hollywood stars gave up their careers for the good of their country, John Wayne never had enough self-sacrifice to do so. I cannot find any relation between John Wayne and Walter Dickens especially not as brothers-in-law. John Wayne had no sisters (only a brother, Robert, and none of the women Wayne married had the maiden name Dickens. They are brothers in law.
