Can you Flip Summon a monster in Main Phase 1 if it was flipped face-down by a card effect also during Main Phase 1 in Yu-Gi-Oh?

The short answer is no. The long answer is: When your face-down defense position card is attacked, only then does it go to face-up defense position. All other times, when you flip it yourself, it goes into face-up attack position.

∙ 11y agoA monster can't be Flip Summoned on the turn it was set, or summoned, or if it attacked that turn, or changed its battle position manually, which includes a previous Flip Summon.
So if you summoned a monster, and the opponent used Book of Moon on it afterwards, you could not Flip Summon it that turn. But if the monster had been summoned a previous turn, and was flipped face-down by an effect, then it can be flip-summoned.
