No, you can't. I'm sorry but you would have to battle between Black, White, Black 2, or White 2 or between X and Y (and possibly Z if Nintendo does so!)
At the time of writing, there is no current way to trade or battle with previous generations in Pokemon X or Y. However, in December, Nintendo will be releasing a paid service called Pokemon Bank which will act as Pokemon X and Y's way of trading from previous generations (although this is only limited to Black, White, Black 2 and White 2). It does not appear that there will be any services that will allow you to battle with previous versions, however.
Pokemon Black and White, released to Japan on September 18th, 2010 and to North America on March 6th, 2011
By Transferring the Pokemon from your Unova games. That is, unless you can convince someone to trade you theirs.
Following Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2, the next Pokémon games will be Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, they are exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and they will have a worldwide release in October of 2013 excluding some countries for the worldwide release. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be in full 3D.
It is very safe since it is developed by the Pokemon creators after all. You can transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 onto the system and get it into your Pokemon X or Y games but you need to do it in a thirty day time span unless you're paying. Item-wise, sort of. If your bag is to full in items, the item that is attached to your Pokemon will be lost. Overall, it's a safe program to use.

Yes, after Pokemon Black and White, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 were released. Then on it was X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire with a few side games like Pokemon: Super Mystery Dungeon and Pokemon Picross. Upcoming will be Pokemon GO and Pokemon Z.
No. Instead there will be a Pokemon X and Y
After Pokémon Black 2 will be new Pokémon games called Pokémon X and Pokémon Y which are exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS.
Pokemon x & Y they come out world wide in October only for the 3DS glad to answer...Veronica
Nowhere to be seen. You'll have to transfer one from Pokemon Black/White/Black 2/White 2, which itself requires transferring from HeartGold/SoulSilver, or trade for one on the GTS.
