No way. Only in Vin Diesel's dreams. Or in the movies. In 1967, when "Mark Vincent" was born , Chuck Norris (his REAL name!) was already 27 years old and well on his way to martial arts supremacy. Mr. Chuck Norris was named as Fighter of the Year in the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1968 when "Vin Diesel" was nonexistent. He hadn't changed his name yet. In 1997, when Vin Diesel (NOT his real name) was first splashing the big screeen, Mr. Norris broke a 4,500 year old Tae Kwon Do tradition by becoming an 8th Degree Black Belt Grand Master. Try THAT, Vin Diesel!
Chuck Norris originally studied Tang Soo Do (which later became Taekwondo) and Chun Kuk Do, both of which are Korean systems of karate. He currently is considered a Taekwondo practitioner. It wouldn't matter about being in their prime. The Chuck Norris jokes exist because there is a thread of truth about them. Chuck Norris is a mixed martial artist with an 8th Dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as other rankings in other martial arts. He has competed internationally and fought well against Bruce Lee. Despite being 71 it is entirely conceivable that Norris would not just defeat but easily defeat the much younger and fitter Statham. Statham is an athlete and a former professional diver and whilst undoubtedly tough he lacks Norris' sheer weight of training and experience.
It means the individual has achieved that level of competancy for the Korean Martial Art, Tang Soo Do. That is the style the Chuck Norris got his black belt in!
