Audrey Hepburn died of appendical cancer despite other rumors of breast cancer. She died on January 20, 1993 three months after one of her many UNICEF trips to Africa. She was in Somalia when she caught the disease.

Yes, if my memory serves me right it was lung cancer. She had been a heavy smoker all of her life. I think she quit in her later years, but it was too late by that time.
