Geraldine Edwards specifically requested that she not be included in Robert Palmer's Last Will and Testament. She was a Legal Professional and a Small Business owner and was more than financially self-sufficient. Palmer and Edwards did spend a considerable amount of time together in July of 2003 going over his Will as Palmer had mentioned that he wished to make changes to his Last Will and Testament and because Geraldine Edwards had worked professionally in Probate and Estate Law. Both felt the Estate should go to Palmer's five children and UNICEF, and paid a visit to Palmer's Estate Attorney Paul Bernard at his offices in Paris, France. At that time the final Will was enacted and lodged with the Paris Probate Court as is procedure. Although the Will was challenged in 2004 it turned out to be airtight. The Will stood as lastly written in July of 2003. A case was brought against the French Probate Court via the Hague Convention in 2007 by Mick Carter, Robert Palmer's manager and Mary Ambrose questioning the legality of the assignment of James Palmer as Trustee of the Estate and questioning the actions of the French Probate Court citing Conflict of Interest. If the two had prevailed they would have been able to file a third lawsuit against the Estate, however, the matter was dismissed by the Hague Convention, and the matter was finally laid to rest.

Geraldine Edwards met the writer John Connolly in the nineties, they shared some of the same friends, including Robert Palmer, among others. John Connolly did base a part of his Private Investigator character, Charlie Parker, on Geraldine Edwards, based in part because she was the County Psychic of San Diego County for three years in the 1990's and did actively work with the San Diego Police Department in the vernacular of a Special Investigator involved in active investigations. According to Connolly, when he found out about this aspect of Geraldine Edwards life, he would ask her for details about the situation, some of which she gave him in a hypothetical way, due to the rules of confidentiality attached to any investigation. When he created his Charlie Parker character, he did say that Geraldine Edwards did inspire the occult aspect of his character as well as part of the characters' intellectual reasoning and ability. When Geraldine Edwards first met John Connolly, he was working as a freelance writer. His first Charlie Parker novel appeared in 1999, and was a runaway success.

He also grandly announced that Robert Palmer was married and divorced only once, and only had two children. Palmer was married twice and had five children. He also insisted that Robert Palmer was going to be buried in Switzerland. Palmer was interred in London, England, by his family. And then he announced that Robert Palmer was in perfect health. Palmer suffered from Hypertension and Mitral Valve Prolapse. The man sounded like a lying fool, which he was. Marianne Faithfull fired him one week after his misreports, alarmed at his behavior. And on a humorous note, Jack Bruce gave Carter a punch in the nose for his antics and then fired him. Jack Bruce did it with style. On an even funnier note, Carter had a child in 2001 with Mary Ambrose, the woman he annnounced as Robert Palmer's companion.
