Yesterday a lady from Bristol told me that during the English Civil War soldiers used to place cobwebs on thier wounds to stop the bleeding.

The myth still persists in the West Country to never sweep away all the cobwebs in a house but to always leave one .

I have no explanation for these ideas -they are as I was told
