I believe parallel paring is still a part of all drivers tests.

From the Calfornia DMV web page on parking: When you park alongside a curb on a level street, the front and back wheels must be parallel and within 18 inches of the curb. Park parallel to the street if there is no curb.
There are many resources available to one desiring to learn how to parallel park. In addition to a local driving school, one might also find information online at the DMV website.
If you refer to the parallel parking part of the "skills" test...it is 25' long and six feet deep. To pass, you have to park within 18" of the "curb." a former WV DMV troop.
That all depends on where you live, In Maine I had to park between two cars in a real life situation, in Nevada I parked between two barrels on a closed course. The common thread is that there was two things to park between.
Answer:According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles California Driver Handbook, 2009:When you park alongside a curb on a level street, the front and back wheels must be parallel and within 18 inches of the curb. Park parallel to the street if there is no curb.**[CA DMV Handbook for 2009, page 53, Section: Special Parking Rules]Therefore, your wheels--both front and back--must be less than 18 inches from the curb. This 18 inch requirement is a fairly standard distance in most states, but you would have to check with that states DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) Driver Handbook to verify this distance.
No you only can apply for a State disable permit with the DMV which will be good any where in the country. The city don't give them for car the DMV does. Which is State run. Now if the city has a park and they charge to park in but allow disable people to park free they many what you to permit to park in that park or beach . But it is mostly unlikely. A state one is all you need for you car or truck.
In Oregon it is 12 inches, other states it is 18 inches. Type this question on Google but add "in (your state)" it should bring up the online section of the DMV manual of your state that will tell you for sure.
18 feet is the DMV standard i believe.
You don't go on the highway but you do go onto the main road and road in a business park where there could be a lot of traffic around. The big difference here is with parallel parking. They do not have a curb but a yellow painted line with cones behind them. Other testing sites has a curb.
Honestly i dont know yet. Today is the 22nd and i have the test tomorrow. But from what i hear its out from the dmv parking lot. Down 28th to walmart then to mohawk. Then down mohawk to main st then back to dmv. And i never heard of them doing the parallel parking. But i also hear it depends on the person that tests u. I will keep u updated. Gl
