Does Jackie Chan teach Kung Fu?

Jackie Chan does not teach Kung Fu. He has however expressed interest in opening a school for stunt men in Hong Kong (or China) saying that there is a need to pass on skills unique to Hong Kong stunts. It remains to be seen if that will happen.

He recently said to Charles, Prince of Wales that he would teach him some Kung Fu basics, when he would be interested in. Jackie isn't a professional Kung Fu teacher, that was just an exception for Prince Charles.

Addendum - Jackie Chan does teach various moves to people he meets now and then but this is in no way any kind of formal training.

Jackie Chan does a form of stage Kung Fu in his movies that he learned at the Peking Opera school. Stage Kung Fu is comparable to Stage Fencing, it's more impressive than the real Martial Arts forms and the fights last longer and are more spectacular, but most of the techniques of Stage Forms of Martial Arts are useless in a real fight. However Jackie Chan also trained in many different forms of Kung Fu after leaving the opera school and starting work in the movies. Jackie has never been very specific about all the forms he has learned other than to say he trained for ten years in Southern Style Kung Fu and for five years in Northern Style. Many of his early films have Jackie demonstrating specific forms of Kung Fu even though the fight sequences often combine several different forms.

Nah, Jackie Chan doesn't PRACTICE he doesn't need to.. he just goes out and shows off his bestest moves like EVER... he's the best thing that could happen to you =)

Although Jackie has learned Karate amongst the many different forms of martial arts he has learned, he does Kung Fu not Karate (or Kung Fu Chop Suey as he calls it)
