Percy Jackson is a book character created by Rick Riordan, there are some true greek stories mentioned throughout the whole series, but Percy's amazing adventures are not real Greek stories.
The Percy Jackson series is fictional, based on some Greek mythology, legends, and myths. Rick Riordan didn't hear the stories from somewhere else then put it into writing - he started with a few ideas and eventually turned them into books and then a best selling series. He's making a sequel series, the Heroes of Olympus.
Rick Riordan like to write about mythology (Percy Jackson and The Olympians series's) and mystery (39 clues The maze of Bones). I've read all of these books by the author of my FAVORITE books. All my friends read them and LOVE them as much as I do.
There is no Luke in Greek myths. He is a character in Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series.
Percy Jackson and The Olympians are about Greek gods and myths. The Heroes of Olympus is sort of like an continuing series, but with greek and roman myths. Kane series is about Egypt myths.
The author, Rick Riordan, told many Greek myths to his son who was ADHD and dyslexic. His son was really interested and liked it but then Rick Riordan ran out of myths. He decided to make his own and his son loved it so much convinced him to make it a book!
Ok, So, his son has ADHD and dyslexia, and he really enjoyed Greek myths. He would ask his dad (Rick Riordan) to read him a Greek myth every night before bed. When he ran out of myths he decided to write some of his own. Thus PJO was born. I am not sure of the other series that he has written prior to the PJO series. (I can't believe I could answer this off the top of my head.... yeah, something's wrong with me....)
