Metal sonic doesn't love shadow he only has his mind set on Amy. But shadow loves metal sonic after his dear sonic was killed along with egg man when the egg breaker self destructed. Shadow loves metal soic because he reminds shadow of his dear sonic metal sonic finally gave up and got together with shadow they are know mown as metal sonadow.

In a story Amy told sonic to come back but when Sonic said no he stared to hang out with Sally then Shadow asked Amy whats wrong then Shadow gave her some promises but when Sonic saw Shadow and Amy Sonic wanted Amy back to him so Sonic and Shadow were battling each other but sonic crashed into Amy then Shadow got mad so Shadow took Amy to the doctor and now Sonic and Sally came together and Sonic for gets about Amy and Shadow likes Amy but not maria.

Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose( Rosy the Rascal) never got to know each other because Sonic did not reciprocate Amy's strong affection and instead, always avoided her.

Will Sega ever make shadow and Amy together?
The only place they hugged each other was Sonic adventure 2 by exident because Amy though shadow was Sonic. It's unlikely that they'll make those 2 a couple. There won't be even much love-related if they go on with the childish and weak storylines. I hope the next storyline will be great like the adventure series storylines.

There are no gay relationships in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Moreover, Sonic and Shadow are arch rivals and are always fighting/ competing with eachother, and do not hold any level of attraction towards eachother.
