Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones (September 21, 1912 - February 22, 2002) was an animator, cartoon artist, screenwriter, producer, and director of animated films. His career with the Warner Bros. Cartoons studio, directing many of the classic Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Road Runner, Porky Pig and Pepe Le Pew cartoons is conservatively described as extraordinary. Characters that he created include Marvin the Martian, Pepe Le Pew, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote.

Norton Juster did not feel that the Chuck Jones version did his book justice. He was not allowed any imput into the film which irritated him. Norton would prefer that the film be all live action with no animation. And of course he hopes that he is allowed input into the new film.
