He retrieves his sword, Anaklusmos, and speaks with a Nereid, who bears a message from his father: he must go to the bay in Santa Monica, and he musn't trust the gifts. What gifts? he wonders as he walks out of the river, dry, and reunites with Annabeth and Grover to journey to Denver, where a surprise visit from a Greek god awaits him.
