The Kahui case is one of those distressing cases that is not only disturbing for the public to hear but that there has never been resolution to the case makes it equally frustrating. The 6 week old twins from New Zealand died of head injuries for which the infant's father was eventually charged. He was acquitted of murder charges and no other suspect has been charged.

There was contradicting testimony from medical experts. One MD thought that the babies died of a rare condition called Barlow's which is scurvy in infants. The lack of vitamin C may have caused the broken bones and fractures that were found to be the cause of death for the twins. This theory however was not widely embraced by most medical personnel.

Had the deaths been caused by natural causes such as the suggested Barlow's I find it very strange that both babies died at the same time. A natural death most likely would have the deaths spaced apart, whether that be hours, days, weeks or months. Even the famous Siamese twins Eng and Chang Bunker, who were connected at the chest, died 2 1/2 hours apart.
