Fire bending is one of the easier "psychic" abilities.

Start small, a single candle in a closed, draft-free room, sit comfortably in front of it, and concentrate on the flame. Try to bend the flame with your mind, a small change is usual at first but as you develop control you will eventually be able to bend the flame at a 90 degree angle. Once you can do that, try rotating it 360 degrees.

When you have achieved this you can claim to be a fire bender.
