Suggestions:
For Fire Types: Use Flamethrower over and over cause Groundon's sunny weather will boost power. (Charmander,Torchic,Cyndaquil, or any Poke'mon taught that TM)
For Water Types: Use Bubble 'til Groundon comes close, then switch to Water Gun.
(Squirtle, Azurill)
For Grass Types:Use Razor Leaf over and over and wait 'til power goes low and Poke'mon with Overgrow their GRASS type moves will boost.
(Overgrow:Chikorita, Bulbasaur) (Razor Leaf:Nuzleaf,Tropius)
For Ice Types:Just keep up with the Ice Beam, Powder Snow, or Ice Ball.
(Any Ice Type has at least one of these)
In Pokemon explorers of Darkness, You have to battle Groudon. The easiest way to beat him is to first throw a sleep seed at him and make him fall asleep. then give a violent seed to your partner and yourself. Then unleash all of your best damage moves. if he wakes up, and if your Pokemon knows smokescreen, then use it. This will make it that he misses every time. This should make it very easy to beat him. I beat him on my first try using this strategy.
first you should definitely have a water type Pokemon teruatama attacks Groudon is fit for Surfing or other water skills
if you were to use the master ball is to win the hood Groudon yaa! good luck! ^ ^
I don't know if you mean steam cave or shimmer desert, but I'd get him confused or asleep, i.e. throw a totter or sleep seed at him or use a move like grasswhistle. Use any ground or water moves and it will be easy. (if your partner has one of those moves go to his/her moves and unselect (by pressing A) all the moves you DON'T want 'em to use. Almost any starter Pokemon can learn dig unless maybe they're water in which they don't need it in this case but can use dive instead. Also be sure to bring as many reviver seeds as you can.
You have to beat Red on Mt Silver then go to Mr Pokemon and he will give you the red orb. Then go to the Embedded Tower in the Safari Zone. Groudon will be in the Embedded Tower waiting. Make him faint, he disappears so be careful
Lots of people ask "who is Mr. Pokemon?" Well its the house where Prof. elm asks you to go to the house
Use grass type moves or water types moves on the Pokemon it will be very effective.
Gyarados is double-weak to Electric, and is also weak to Rock.

Go into the groudon cave and beat team magma. and then catch groudon with ultra ball or timer ball.
Kyogre because Kyogre is Water and Groudon is ground, which is weak to water.
No you just have to beat the Pokemon champion then after go to the weather institute southeast of fortree city then on the second storie talk to the man by the computer and he will tell you the route to go to. After you catch or meet kyogre do the same thing and he will tell you where to get groudon. :) Note: The man only says that there is a drought(groudon) or a downpour(kyogre)
