In order to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Pearl over to Pokémon Black, you will need to access the Poké Transfer Lab in Pokémon Black which is available in Route 15.
Once you go into the lab, you will need to speak to the Professor of the Lab there, he can be found in the back by the machine. After talking to him, he will ask you if you want to play the game which is the game that allows you to transfer Pokémon from a previous Pokémon game provided it's Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Pokémon Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver. Once he activates the game, the game will send out a wireless signal.
Once it is sending out a wireless signal, you will need to use another DS system along with 1 of the Generation 4 games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver) already inserted in it. Next you should activate your DS system and then select the Downplay Play option, there will be an application that you will be able to select, accept and download which is the Poké Transfer game.
You will be able to send 6 Pokémon however no more or no less and then you will play the game which features you aiming Crossbow which fires Poké Balls, the objective is to hit your Pokémon with the Poké Balls in order to capture them however your time is limited. Once the time is up, all Pokémon that are caught will be transferred provided you accept the prompt, all Pokémon will be sent back to the previous game. Once a Pokémon is transferred to Pokémon Black, it cannot be sent back. Transferred Pokémon cannot know HMs and additionally they cannot be holding items however the Poké Transfer Lab will remove the items for you. The removed items will be placed in the previous game's bag.
To get to Sapphire to Black you must transfer through Pal Park on Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinium, Heart Gold, or Soul Silver. Then on to Black.
Remember: No HM moves or Hold items can be transfer from DPPt, HGSS to Black, White, Black 2 or White 2, no Eggs and no transfering Spiky-Eared event Pichu.
