Just left of this lab is a small path leading up along the river. Go up this and then surf across to the thick grass. Turn right and go past the rocks in the water and then surf right. You come to a cave. Go in it and follow the maze and use lots of strength. You find lots of Axew here. Nearthe end an old man will talk to you about cobalion. After that go through the rest of that room to get to cobalion. Battle him and even if you don't catch him Virizion's clearing will be unlocked. You can surf back to the cave later and cobalion will be back like the old man says if you don't catch him.
