How do you get pokemon eggs in Pokemon Fire Red?

You can get a Togepi egg by going somewhere on island 5. If you want different Pokemon, go to 4 island and put a ditto and another Pokemon in the daycare center. Take a little bike ride and after a little while talk to the man outside and he'll give you an egg. Sometimes a few Pokemon don't work. Hope that helped. K bye. [=
You have to beat the Elite 4, and go to 4 Island, then go to the day care. There you give him a pokemon of your chosing and a ditto. Walk around for a while, then go to the man at the fence, he will give you the egg.
Go to four island and put a ditto and any random Pokemon that isn't legendary in the day care and then walk around the other islands then come back to four island and talk to the old man near the day care he gives you an egg.
You breed two pokemon in the day care on four island. (Note: You can only go there after you beat the Elite Four. That would be the only way and plus, it embarrasses them and makes them suck. Not so "Elite," huh? LOL).

you have to "give" a male and female Pokemon to the four island breeder couple... after a time ( when the oldman be in front of the fence) talk with him, he will tell you that he was looking for you (be sure to have space to take the egg) that's all

I was looking for the answer to this also and this is what I found out: You go to Sevii Island Five, also known as Five Island then you SURF WEST through the little maze of rocks on the water then you get to a patch of land where an old man and some random trainer girl is in the back. Talking to this old man in brown clothes and beard is how you get the Togepi Egg.

I haven't got the egg because supposedly your Pokemon have to happy or at least the first one has to be and the old man has to recognize that they or the pokemon are/is happy. All he says to me is:

You travel all over the place don't you? You're not driving your pokemon too harshly are you? Let me take a look .... .... .... .... Ah, hm, I see, I see..

I don't get an egg. Search a bit more though you might get it before me.

You can only get pokemon eggs after you have defeated the Elite Four and have owned at least 60 kinds of pokemon.

If you owned 60 kinds of pokemon when defeating the Elite Four, Professor Oak will tell you to go to One Island and talk to Celio in the Pokemon Center. By now, you should have the Tri-Pass. Use the Tri-Pass to sail to One Island.

Once you meet Celio, he will ask you to do him a favor and find the gems needed to fix his machine; the Ruby and the Sapphire, corresponding to the previous Generation III games.

Once this task is completed, Celio will reward you with the Rainbow Pass. It will allow you to go to Islands Four, Five, Six and Seven. Use the pass to sail to Four Island.

Go to the Day-Care on the island and drop off two pokemon compatible of breeding. One common way of making sure your two pokemon are compatible is dropping off a Ditto with any other pokemon not in the Undiscovered Egg Group.

After walking around for a while, return to the Day-Care and talk to the old man standing outside the house. He may give you an egg if you have enough room in your team.
