The Pokemon you get depends on what fossil you give it.
A skull fossil turns into Cranidos
An armour fossil turns into Shieldon
A helix fossil turns into Omanyte
A dome fossil turns into Kabuto
And Old Amber turns into Aerodactyl
Remember Cranidos is exclusive to Diamond, and Shieldon is exclusive to Pearl.
