Registering is down because of hackers and Scamers so they are upgrading the PWO security to make sure this isn't happening again. So basically the game right now is just a closed beta.

∙ 9y agoAfter obtaining a Game Sync ID go to the Pokemon Global Link Website create an account and when you make your profile you will be able to input your Game Sync ID and link up your Pokemon X or Y to the website.

You can also randomly obtain one from the Balloon Popping game on the Pokemon Global Link Website on Level 2. To obtain items from the Pokemon Global Link Website you must create an account and register your Game Sync ID. To obtain the Game Sync ID go on the PSS in-game and tap the folder icon and scroll to the second page and tap the Game Sync button. Allow the game to create an ID then use it to create an account and sync your game on the website.

During gameplay the number of encounters are not viewable however if you sync your game to the Pokemon Global Link Website the website gives out Medals to players who do certain things in game for example save 10 times. One of the Medals is hooking pokemon with a fishing rod. So far that seems to be the only medal that keeps track of encounters.
