cuz Bilbo wanted himself to be praise by dwarves' and others.
It occurs on several occasions. In the mountain being chased by the goblins, he falls and is knocked out and the goblins overlook him. In Mirkwood, the spiders capture them and Bilbo has to rescue them. Again, the Elves capture the party and Bilbo escapes, partially due to his small size and his magic ring.
They were attacked and defeated by the dragon Smaug. One might be surprised how one creature, however fierce and powerful, might defeat two entire cities (Erebor and Dale)y, particularly when Smaug was a young dragon, not yet fully-grown. Apparently Smaug's firebreath was decisive - there's reference to dwarves marching out the gates to fight him and being roasted. Perhaps if the dwarves had mounted a well-coordinated attack they might have defeated him, but taken unaware, with no coordination, Smaug was able to pick them off a few at a time and a few dwarves are no match for a dragon.

In chapter eight of the hobbit. Bilbo bagging's rescues the dwarfs. He's more brave then at the beginning of the book. He leads the spiders away to free the dwarves. When they return he kills many and they learn to fear his blade. He keeps the dwarves together and leads them out of the spiders area.

Bilbo rescues the dwarves when they are trapped in the webs of the giant spiders. He is able to avoid capture, then drives the spiders away, before cutting the dwarves free of the sticky strands.
There were the orcs and wargs fighting against the dwarves, elves, and men. the Giant Eagles of the Misty Mountains and Beorn the skin-changer fought later in the battle on the side of the dwarves, elves, and men. And, of course, Biblo Baggins, a halfling, was there.

Biblo 'borrows' the Arkenstone.
If Gandalf and the dwarves did not show up to rescue him, Bilbo Baggins had a plan to make his way through the tunnels to locate them. However, he is saved from that undertaking when he hears the dwarves and Gandalf talking.
One of biblo's enemies was the elf king, Thranduil.
That would be hard to say. He was alone and had only Sting. But he felt an obligation to at least try to rescue them.
The ring is what made biblo a hero to the group. The ring is what made Biblo from a useless guy into a sucessful one.
