It doesn't take very long. On Emerald version, I was breeding some, and they were having eggs very quickly. One time, I took the egg from the day care man, walked into their house and to the PC, dropped off the egg, walked back out, and there was already another egg. Just drop off the Pokemon there and walk around in the area for a while. Have some patience, and you'll get your egg soon.

∙ 12y agoIf your using a ditto it shouldn't take long. Somewhere in the vicinity of a couple of minutes. If the Pokemon are incompatible they will not breed. Talk to the old man outside of the daycare to see if the Pokemon get along well. If not, usually they do not breed.

∙ 12y agowell, i don't want to disapoint you but....it may take a lifetime! to see a shiny Pokemon on the wild, u have 1/8000 chance to see one...so i guess for a mudkip its going to take a lot longer coz its a starter Pokemon

∙ 12y agoThere is a very small chance to breed a shiny Pokemon egg. There is a 1/8192 chance of getting one, but that is cut in half by breeding a shiny Pokemon to get a egg.
